The beautiful timber clad building was the town’s Church primary school opening its doors to boys and girls in 1871. The school is known locally as the ‘Feed My Lambs’ school because these words from the Old Testament are inscribed on a lintel above the front door of the building. The school itself relocated to a new building on Manor Road in 1968. The imposing building with sweeping views down across the town was home to a hotel, restaurant, nightclub and offices before finally being converted into apartments in 2014.
